Road to Offer is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Bain. This is original practice content built from publicly available information about the assessment format, not a copy of the live assessment. Formats change between offices and recruiting cycles.
Want the official rules first? Read the Bain TestGorilla guide and the Bain SOVA guide.
The quick version: Bain says some intern and full-time candidates complete a digital assessment, and that your invitation names the provider, which can be TestGorilla. Formats vary by office and cycle, so treat this as skills practice, not a replica of any invitation.
Preparing for both Bain routes?
Your invitation chooses the provider. The Bain assessment pack gives you our Sova and TestGorilla-style mocks and exercises together, every answer worked, so you are ready for either.

Numerical, data and logic questions reward reading the exact quantity asked for, checking the denominator and testing every option against the stated rules. This four-question sample lets you practise that routine once across four question types. Your invitation remains the authority on what you will actually receive.
How the practice works
Answer the first question and check it. Save your progress with a free account, then finish the remaining three. Your report shows the exact score on this sample, the working for every question and why each wrong option fails. The countdown is advisory and never locks you out.

The four question types
Short examples of the reasoning each type asks for. They are different from the four practice questions.
- Example 1
A table lists signups by plan and by region. What share of the Pro plan signups came from the North region?
ApproachName the denominator first: it is the Pro plan total, not all signups and not the North total. Then divide the matching cell by that total.
AnswerPick the group in the question as the base, then divide the matching cell by it.
- Example 2
Every framed print is signed, and some signed prints are large. Is it guaranteed that some framed prints are large?
ApproachDraw only what the statements give. Some signed prints being large says nothing about whether those are the framed ones.
AnswerNo. Do not turn a statement about some into a statement about all.
- Example 3
Three vendors are compared on cost and delivery time, and the client needs delivery within five days. Which vendor wins?
ApproachRemove every option that breaks the hard limit before comparing cost. Only then rank what is left.
AnswerApply the hard constraint first, then compare the remaining options.

Common ways to lose marks
- Dividing by the wrong basePercentages inside a subgroup use that subgroup's total. Underline the group named in the question before you calculate.
- Reading a possibility as a certaintyWhen a question says guaranteed, only a conclusion that must hold in every case counts. Test each option against the least favourable case.
- Ranking before filteringA cheap option that breaks a stated limit is out, however good it looks. Remove ineligible options first.
- Assuming your invitation matches a guideBain says formats vary by office and cycle. Confirm the sections and timing from your own invitation.
Bain TestGorilla-style practice questions
Does Bain use TestGorilla?
Bain says some candidates are asked to complete a digital assessment, and that the recruiter email says whether it is Sova or TestGorilla. Requirements vary by role and office, so your invitation is the source of truth.
Are these the real TestGorilla questions?
No. The data, wording, options and explanations are original Road to Offer content built to practise the same kinds of reasoning. Road to Offer is not affiliated with Bain or TestGorilla.
What do the four questions cover?
One question each on numerical reasoning, data interpretation, critical thinking and a case evidence choice. One question per type is a pointer, not a diagnosis.
Is the report free?
Yes. After you answer the questions, the report with the worked answer for every question is free in your account.
What should I practise after this?
