1. McKinsey's Official Case Interview Prep Page

What it is: McKinsey's interview guidance and worked sample cases. The current page links to Beautify, Diconsa, Electro-Light and Talbot Trucks. Use the live page for its current selection rather than assuming every historical sample is still listed.

Best for: Understanding the official format before doing any practice. Read this first.

2. McKinsey Solve Information

What it is: The official description of Solve and assessment integrity rules. McKinsey says preparation is not required. Its public overview does not provide an official full practice test or a published game-specific answer key.

Best for: Understanding the assessment and its instructions. For optional practice beforehand, the Redrock worked guide teaches evidence selection and calculations. The Solve guide explains reported formats separately from official information. Do not use practice notes, websites or AI during the real assessment unless McKinsey has specifically authorized an accommodation.

What it is: McKinsey's Personal Experience Interview guidance explains the four dimensions (Connection, Drive, Leadership, Growth) and what good stories look like.

Free Solve Practice: Play the Four Practice Formats

McKinsey does not publish a practice version of the Solve games, so this is the one part of the process you rehearse with independent material. A free worked case-math exercise

Given. An original practice charging operator serves 40,000 sessions per year. Revenue is $18 per session, variable cost is $6 per session, and annual fixed costs are $360,000. Ignore taxes and financing. What is annual operating profit, and how many sessions are needed to break even?

Interpretation. The operator has a 10,000-session cushion above break-even. A 25% fall from the current 40,000 sessions would remove that cushion if price and costs stayed constant. Do not call a 25% volume decline a 25% profit decline: profit would fall to zero.

What it is: Several sites, including IGotAnOffer, publish free McKinsey-style case write-ups with sample answers.
